I found out I was approved for the HELOC on Wednesday so naturally we went to Ikea THAT night and ordered our stuff 🙂 Our contractor was supposed to start working on Monday and he wanted the cabinets to be assembled by the time he started so we knew we had to hurry. We ordered everything on Wednesday and chose to have everything delivered…by the next day! Kinda amazing. And boy, are we glad we did that! In our area, the cost was $79 for them to deliver everything, and it meant that we didn’t have to rent a truck or lift every box. 17 cabinets = 179 boxes!!!! Holy cow!
They showed up on time and took everything off the truck and put it in our garage. They even counted boxes for us! You HAVE to check the number of boxes because you only have 48 hours to let them know if you’re missing anything. That was the only stressful part about this – we had to make sure we checked every single item on the list and we only had 2 days to report if something was missing or damaged.

All the boxes came on a pallet which makes moving them much easier.
After the delivery and rough counting of the boxes, we got down to business: check every box and part number against the master list and group things by categories: all doors together, cabinets together, drawers together, etc. This is the cabinets pile.
